Tuesday 5th February is Safer Internet Day 2019 and everyone at Richard Wakefield will be taking part.
Throughout the day the children have been participating in online safety lessons to highlight this year's motto #OurInternetOurChoice. The safety of the children in our school is of utmost importance to us; this includes their safety when using the Internet.
To support parents at home we have sent a text message today recommending an app produced by the NSPCC called NetAware. This is a free app that parents can download that contains vital information and advice about the numerous apps that are available to our children. The same information is also available via their webpage https://www.net-aware.org.uk/.
As well as providing a vital source of information for parents and carers it also helps to demonstrate to children (through visual 'danger gauges') about the safety of the apps that they wish to access.
If you require any further advice or information please do not hesitate to contact us via the school office.
