Both my children run into school every morning happy to be there, and for me it’s important that this continues by providing good quality teaching and a nurturing environment where children get the chance to become the best that they can be.
I have a background working in very varied educational settings and hope that this enables me to have a good understanding of some of the issues faced by schools. This in turn will allow me to help our school continue to strive for continuing high standards.

Self-employed therapist
Bio:
My Mum, myself plus two brothers and my two daughters have attended Richard Wakefield School.
I originally took on the role of Foundation Governor as a temporary role to cover for Rev. Ganz on his retirement. I enjoyed the challenge more than I’d expected and when offered a permanent place decided to take it. I have seen the role change a lot in my time, with more and more responsibility being put onto the Governors, the rewards are great though and I have really enjoyed being part of our journey from Satisfactory/Requires Improvement to Good. Next we need to make sure we are ready for the SIAMS inspection.
I have been helping to run our Christian Club on Monday lunchtimes for many years now, and have been part of raising the profile of our Christian ethos in the school. I am at present assistant church warden at St Mary’s and help plan our more relaxed services on Sunday afternoons, i.e. Light Service, Christingle, Palm Sunday and Open Gardens.
Workwise, I left school to undertake an electrical apprenticeship, gaining my HNC in electrical and electronics. For more than 20 years I had the role of PCB Designer in an engineering department that designed control and communications equipment. I became interested in complimentary therapies in the early 90’s and after completing courses in reflexology and massage, made the move to being a self employed therapist.
